Our Partners
The primary Kenyan organization with whom we partner is the Nyanza Reproductive Health Society (NRHS) located in Kisumu, Kenya. NRHS was founded in 2002 when the Director of AheadKenya, Robert Bailey, began a clinical trial of male circumcision to reduce HIV incidence. NRHS is a Kenyan non-profit organization, registered under the Kenyan Societies Act, with an impressive track record in sexual and reproductive health. NRHS has been at the forefront of health research in Kenya — translating evidence-based findings directly into national policies and effective programs that make a real difference in people's lives. It is integrated into the Kenyan health system and collaborates closely with the Kenyan Ministry of Health. Entirely managed and staffed by Kenyans, NRHS combines deep local expertise with full accountability: its Executive Committee includes international members who provide independent oversight. The organization operates two clinics and an advanced laboratory, supported by a dedicated team of approximately 45 staff. Financial and ethical accountability are cornerstones of NRHS operations — NRHS maintains rigorous procurement and accounting systems that are independently audited each year.
